Tappan-Cunningham House

img_4888A visible reminder of the Gilded Age in eastern Arkansas, this Victorian home replaced an a earlier one on the same site which was destroyed by fire. It has survived in nearly its original state. The current home was built in 1892. A farmer and Confederate veteran, Major Tappan built this house a decade after founding Tappan Coal Co., which sold Pennsylvania coal to steamboats and packets. Listed on the National Register.This home is now private, not available for tours.
