In commemorating the centennial of America’s military involvement in World War I, the Delta Cultural Center in Helena has created an exhibition, “Over Here and There: the Sons and Daughters of Arkansas’s Delta at War,” honoring the men and women of Arkansas’s Delta counties who answered the nation’s call to military service in 1917 and 1918.

The exhibition’s grand opening festivities shall be held Saturday, May 5, 2018, beginning at 11 a.m. at the DCC Visitors Center at 141 Cherry St. in Helena-West Helena.

The event will open with a remembrance ceremony and the posting of colors. Guests can observe demonstrations performed by WWI reenactors and enjoy refreshments in addition to receiving the first viewing of the new exhibit.

These festivities will run through 1:30 p.m. and the museum remains open until 5.
